Flute Tracking with microphones

A flute position tracking technique to capture physical gestures while performing flute

Trial 1

Tools:

  • A stick
  • 2 Panasonic Omni Mics
  • Electrical tape
    Instructions:
    Take a 26 inch stick and tape 2 microphones to the edges. Use the cross correlation peak of the stereo recording to track time delay and determine position.
    Result:
    The correlation tracking worked well for hissing noise but could not track a the flute sound well.
