Information on receiving training to be able to use certain CCRMA studios.

The same training with Matt Wright covers both Studio D and Studio E. It takes about 30 minutes. Some key points:
Have clarity about which activities you would like to do in these studios.
Schedule the time with Matt. Whenever possibly he will try to fit you in with a few other people, e.g., Music 101 students around week 3 or 4. If multiple people come at the same time it still only takes 30 minutes total for everyone, because most people’s computers work fine the first time and then there are more people to help troubleshoot the rest; the vibe is that we’re all in it together as a team.
Make sure that time is also booked in both D and E on CCRMA’s room booking system.
Bring your laptop and be prepared to plug it into CCRMA’s audio interface via USB A or USB C. You might need to download the drivers.
Be prepared to select the MOTU in your DAW or audio software of choice and play at least a bit of your music through at least one or two loudspeaker channels. Make sure it’s something good that Matt would like (but seriously, you can pass the training even if he doesn’t like it.)
Familiarize yourself with the online documentation (links at top of this section) and bring any questions these web pages don’t answer.
Matt would appreciate it if you wouldn’t mind wearing a face mask during the session.
After your successful training Matt emails a confirmation; shortly thereafter your keycard will become able to unlock both doors (as well as CCRMA’s exterior doors).
